Ethernet Wang is an American Woman.

She is also a film director, a trans woman, and a second‑generation Chinese‑American immigrant.

Wang views filmmaking as a practice of community-building and stewardship.

Based in the experimental and hybrid-documentary filmmaking traditions, she uses a research- and rehearsal-based process to tell stories of life and love in a dying empire.

She received an MFA in Film and Video from California Institute of the Arts in 2025, and a BS in Statistics & Machine Learning from Carnegie Mellon University in 2021. Wang now makes films with her production company DISASSEMBLY.

When Khloe sees herself in the students she recruits, she has to choose between leaving her job as an enabler of surveillance-state violence and her newfound relationship with Joyce.
